SHOCK
THERAPY
LP - 'Hate
is a 4 - letter word'
LP - 'Adventures in good music'
LP - 'The many faces of hate'
More of a industrial sound. Had a great reception in Europe where
the LP
'Hate is a 4-letter word' actually made in on the charts! Sorta like early 'Ministry'. Together in early 80's.
Featured members of other big local bands ( i.e. - FEISTY CADAVERS, THE
GENERALS)
THE
SILLIES
7" EP - 'No big Deal" 1979
LP - 'Detroit on a platter'
Cassette - "Public Enema #1" 1994
If it wasn't for these guys needing a place to practice and have bands come to
Detroit ,we wouldn't of had
the legendary club BOOKIES! One of the 'godfathers' of the Detroit punk
movement. They played with a
bunch of big name bands (i.e.- THE POLICE, VELVET UNDERGROUND, THE DEAD BOYS,
THE DAMNED).
Good bunch of guys.
SKRAPS
7" EP - "Bleeding Wounds" 1987
These guys are Detroit's answer to MISFITS. Lead singer Brett
Wolfgang
could fill in for Danzig. Good sound, a bit of metal edge to them.
SLAUGHTERHOUSE
7" EP -
'Mommys little panty boy' 1987
I saw these guys in early 80's...They scared the
shit outta
me!! There was guy banging on a empty oxygen tank and chaos all over the stage.
SLEEP
Saw them at The Hungry Brain in 1985. Don't remember anything about them.
SNAKE
OUT
Cassette
- 'Snake Out' 1984
LP
- 'Gollywobblers from hell' 1985
LP - 'Live Pizza' (was packaged in a real pizza box!!) 1986
Great fun band! Surf punk at its best! Each live show was different,
you never
knew what to expect! One of their many great songs was 'Fuck you, I ain't Gandhi'
SON
OF SAM
EP - 'Fuck it
to death' 1985
7" EP - 'Fingers'
7" EP - 'Dirty side of a daydream'
From 1984 to 1991 this band was the definition of punk. Fronted by the
great vocal styling's
of legendary punk, Lacy. These guys are the Detroit answer to THE GERMS. Lacy
now has a
great hardcore outfit, THE HILLSIDE
STRANGLERS.

Another of my favorite locals. Mixed glam and glitz with the NY
DOLLS styled punk. Was first known
as 'BRAT' and a 3 piece. Then changed to the 'TRASH BRATS' and became a 4 piece.
They had as much
luck with drummers as SPINAL TAP did. Broke up last year after
a close to 15 year ride.
Toured Europe & most of the U.S. they also recorded quite a bit showing up
on a bunch of comps.
TWENTY

just to name a few.
